‘Walking in Nagshead' by Claire Leach is an original ink drawing made on smooth hot pressed Daler Rowney watercolour paper measuring 14.8cm x 21cm. The drawing has been signed, titled and dated on the reverse.

This drawing was inspired by an autumnal walk in Nagshead Nature Reserve in the Forest of Dean. I have applied washes of Indian ink to the paper, allowed it to dry and then used water, brush and kitchen towel to remove ink, this process has been repeated several times to build atmosphere and texture within the work. I have then used concentrated ink and a very fine brush to draw in details like grasses and leaves. A fineliner pen has been used to draw in tiny marks to vary the mark making.
